The weather on Saturday morning in Munich was rather modest, and the schedule had “only” promised a double for 11:30 a.m. local time. The grandstands at the MTTC Iphitos were still almost full. Because Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies played for a place in the final at the traditional ATP Tour 250 event in the Bavarian capital. And the two-time French Open champions did not disappoint: "Kramies" prevailed against Harri Heliovaara and Lloyd Glasspool 7: 5 and 6: 3.

The two Germans won their fourth title together in Barcelona last week, after the season didn't start as expected. In Munich tomorrow, Kevin Krawietz is also concerned with defending his title: Last year, the local hero triumphed alongside Wesley Koolhof.

A surprise pairing awaits in the final: Rafael Matos and David Vega Hernandez probably had no one on the list before the tournament started. Especially since the Brazilian and his Spanish partner had to fend off a match point against Daniel Altmaier and Oscar Otte in the first round.
