It will be the first encounter between tournament favorite and two-time Munich champion Zverev and the up-and-coming young Dane. Rune struggled in the first round with Jiri Lehecka in the first set, but was able to assert himself in the end.

As is well known, Alexander Zverev feels very comfortable in Munich, here the first championship of the season should finally work out. So far, the German has only been in one final in 2022: in Momtpellier he lost to Alexander Bublik.
