The live rankings are nice, every single result that earns ATP points is recorded immediately. The inclined tennis fan can therefore check daily, even hourly, where the favorite player is currently located. And so it was already clear after the success against Aslan Karatsev: Jan-Lennard Struff will improve by 37 places and reach a new career high with position 28.
For Carlos Alcaraz, however, it was already clear before the tournament started: he would not be able to take over the top of the world rankings from the absent Novak Djokovic. In the case of a title defense, however, move up to five points on the Serbs. The chances of a changing of the guard before the French Open are good: Alcaraz didn't play in Rome last year, while Djokovic has 1,000 points to defend.
Zverev falls out of the top 20
Aslan Karatsev made the biggest leap of the week when he reached the semi-finals in Madrid: The Russian made up 69 places and is currently in 52nd place. Andy Murray also did well by winning the Challenger in Aix-en-Provence. He climbed ten places to 42.
Alexander Zverev, on the other hand, fell out of the top 20 as expected and is now number 22. Dominic Thiem is in 96th place.
