Due to his defeat in the round of 16 at the ATP Masters in Rome against Daniil Medvedev on Tuesday, Zverev lost five places in the world rankings and will be number 27 directly behind Struff next Monday. The Warsteiner had recently jumped to 26th place with his participation in the final in Madrid against the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz.
Struff did not compete in Rome and is instead playing in the second-class Challenger tournament in Bordeaux this week. There he can even extend his lead of 27 points over Zverev. The German number three is Yannick Hanfmann from Karlsruhe, who at least moved up to position 63 with his participation in the quarter-finals in Rome. The 31-year-old has never been placed that high.
