ATP Tour: Not without my mother!
Not only the fathers try to influence the sporting career of their offspring on the ATP tour. Some mothers are also involved.

What was good for Jimmy Connors, still the record holder with 109 titles on the ATP tour, can't be bad for his descendants in the professional men's circus. Connors was coached by his mother Gloria, at least during those years when he was developing into a Grand Slam champion. Connors is long since retired, Gloria passed away in 2007. But even today, some mothers are involved in their sons' athletic careers.
And you don't even have to come with Judy Murray. Of course, it can be assumed that she gave her boys Andy and Jamie the tools they needed when they were young, with which the Murrays then celebrated great success as adults.
Mothers Rune and Shapovalov are always there
At the moment, however, Aneke Rune catches the eye. The mother of the Danish sensation Holger does not miss her son's match - alongside coach Lars Christensen. Does Aneke occasionally give useful tips during training? One does not know. But their role should not be underestimated. And if only as a buffer for Holger like last year in Roland Garros.
Tessa Shapovalova is definitely involved in her son Denis' career. Tessa tried herself as a professional tennis player years ago. And trained Denis. While father Viktor is almost never seen, Tessa Shapovalva travels around the tennis globe with Denis. But, at least outwardly, he politely holds back with advice on the court.
Which does not apply to Julia Salnikova, the mother of Stefanos Tsitsipas. However: In order to get to her son's ear, she must first overrule father Apostolos, and that seems almost impossible.
Mother Zverev takes care of the dog during the matches
Irina Zvereva is much calmer. When son Alexander plays an important match, mother Zverev usually takes care of the dog. And saves the nerve battles that take place on the court. And that, although Irina and Alexander Zverev sr. used to be a professional himself.
Denis Istomin is one of the very few still active professionals who actually leads his mother as a coach. However, the Uzbek rides slowly towards the sunset and is only 496th in the ATP charts. Mama Klaudiya Istomina can hardly intervene productively.
