Not that Casper Ruud needed additional motivation for the final of the ATP Tour 250 event in Buenos Aires. But: The three-set win against Diego Schwartzman not only meant the Norwegian's seventh tournament win, but was also necessary to defend eighth place in the ATP world rankings. Because a few hours earlier, Félix Auger-Aliassime had put a lot of pressure on with his first career championship in Rotterdam and the associated 500 points.

The third tournament winner on Sunday, Reilly Opelka, improved by three positions and is currently in 20th place. But that's not enough for the top position in the USA - Taylor Fritz holds it in 17th place.

Djokovic drops points

Nothing has (yet) changed at the top either. Novak Djokovic leads ahead of Daniil Medvedev but will lose 2,000 points from the 2021 Australian Open next Monday. Then Medvedev could take the lead in the charts.

Alexander Zverev is still third. Dominic Thiem is in 40th position, but will also lose a few points next Monday: There are still 180 points for the round of 16 at the Australian Open last year. Jiri Lehecka made the biggest leap forward with his surprising entry into the Rotterdam semifinals. The 20-year-old Czech made up 42 positions, made it into the top 100 for the first time and is currently in 95th place.
