Great news for Stefanos Tsitsipas: The Greek pushed past the Spaniard Rafael Nadal in the world rankings and is now better off than ever with third place. In front of him are currently only the world number one Novak Djokovic and his first pursuer Daniil Medvedev. Otherwise there were no changes in the top ten compared to the previous week.
Washington Champion Jannik Sinner made a big leap forward. The South Tyrolean improved by nine positions and is now 15th in the world rankings. Final opponent Mackenzie McDonald made up 43 places and is currently 64th in the ranking.
In addition to Tsitsipas and Sinner, Lorenzo Sonego (25th), Lloyd Harris (49th), Brandon Nakashima (87th) and Jenson Brooksby (99th) also enjoyed new personal bests in the top 100.
In the Race to Turin, Djokovic is still in the lead ahead of Tsitsipas and Matteo Berrettini. In addition, Andrey Rublev, Alexander Zverev, Medvedev, Nadal and Casper Ruud should also take part in the year-end finals of the eight best players. However, Sinner was also able to make up ground in this ranking and is now in tenth place.
