ATP / WTA Rome with quarantine exception
Relief for everyone who wants to play in the ATP or WTA tournament in Rome, because Italy has issued the usual quarantine requirement for participants in sports competitions. There is still one problem.

Athletes arriving directly from the US Open could do without a 14-day quarantine. This is reported by the Canadian tennis portal opencourt.ca , citing a corresponding decree.
The problem is: The US Open will take place from August 31st to September 13th, the clay court tournament in Rome will begin on September 20th. A 14-day quarantine would therefore not be possible for players who reach the second week in Flushing Meadows.
As it currently seems, players who can prove a negative PCR test 48 hours before arriving in Italy should play the Italian Open without quarantine. Accompanying persons would also be exempt.
So far so good? Yes and no. Because there is a week between the end of the US Open and the start of the Italian Open; for the majority of players who were eliminated before the end of the US Open, the bridging time would be long. If you don't want to enter Italy directly, but want to spend time in your home country first (with appropriate quarantine), you would have a problem.
Restart of the ATP tour on August 20th
The resumption of the ATP tour is currently planned for August 20 with the Western and Southern Open, the Cincinnati event that is to take place on the US Open facility. These start on August 31st. The clay court tournament in Kitzbühel also starts in the second US Open week.
The Masters tournament should have continued to take place in Madrid from September 14th to 20th, but it was recently canceled .
The WTA tour started last week with the tournament in Palermo .
