Belinda Bencic will meet Daria Kasatkina in the Adelaide International 2 final after both players walked over into the title match in the semifinals.

Daria Kasatkina was supposed to face Paula Badosa in the last four of the WTA Tour 500 tournament. However, the 25-year-old Spaniard had to retire due to an injury to her right thigh. "I'm really disappointed that I had to cancel today because I was really looking forward to the match," said Badosa. Nadal's doubles partner suffered an abductor strain in her two-and-a-half-hour game against Brazilian Haddad Maia.
Bencic progresses effortlessly
Veronica Kudemertova has also canceled her game against Belinda Bencic because of a hip injury. Since June 2022, when she had to give up against Ons Jabeur in the final in Berlin, Bencic has had the chance to win a title again. In the quarterfinals, she was able to prevail against Caroline Garcia, fourth in the world rankings. But Kasatkina also won against Barbora Krejcikova, the 2021 French Open winner, during the week.

Kasatkina leads 3-2 in their five straight meetings against Bencic and won their last clash in the second round of the 2021 French Open 6-2, 6-2. Bencic defeated Kasatkina 6-4, 6-4 in the first round of the 2020 Adelaide tournament in their only previous outdoor hard court duel.
