That was announced on Wednesday.
Pioline, Wimbledon and US Open finalist and former number 5 in tennis, takes over from Guy Forget. He recently held the post of tournament director at the Paris Masters and in Roland Garros.
Forget resigned from both positions in December 2021, and rumors about a private tax problem made the rounds. Shortly afterwards, Amélie Mauresmo was announced as his successor in Roland Garros.
So now another former world-class player is taking over responsibility for the traditional tournament in Paris-Bercy.
Pioline committed to 2024 for the time being
For the time being, Pioline is to take over the next three editions of the Masters event in late year, which will benefit from "the wealth of his skills and experience", it is said.
"His mission will be to coordinate the organization of the Rolex Paris Masters with the FFT (French Tennis Federation, ed.) and to further improve its position as a major tournament and to promote the tournament in France and abroad", that's the announcement.
