Davis Cup: Carlos Alcaraz arrived at the Spanish team
Two days after his victory at the US Open in New York, the new tennis world number one Carlos Alcaraz arrived at the Spanish Davis Cup team in Valencia. The 19-year-old is expected to play in the hosts' opening match against Serbia on Wednesday.

"I'm very proud to return to Spain as number one and I'm looking forward to our team and the very special atmosphere," said Alcaraz after his arrival. Spain captain Sergi Bruguera is fervently hoping "that Carlos will recover as soon as possible."
The clear goal of the Spanish team is to win the group and qualify for the final tournament in Malaga at the end of November. Other intermediate round opponents besides Serbia are South Korea and Canada.
