On him Michael Kohlmann sets in singles: Jan-Lennard Struff

tennisnet : Mr. Kohlmann. Is the German team already completely in Madrid?

Michael Kohlmann : We, Jan-Lennard Struff, Philipp Kohlschreiber and Dominik Koepfer, arrived on Friday evening. On Saturday, at 16:15 clock, then Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies have come to. Just in time for the official dinner on Saturday evening, on Monday there will be the opening ceremony.

tennisnet : Your impressions of Krawietz and Mies at the ATP Finals?

Kohlmann : The two have won a match. In a tough group with Herbert / Mahut and Cabal / Farah. You have certainly had a huge experience. Maybe they have kept their Tp matches and also their gaming luck for the Davis Cup.

tennisnet : Is there something like international training units?

Kohlmann : We only train with each other, it is not played at a distance. There may have been a double here in the last few days that did not count. But in the immediate phase, before it starts, I can not imagine that. There are too few seats here. The training is generally difficult because just 18 teams are here. Everything is not as plannable as I would like. In contrast to our home games, where we always have two hours for three hours, we have far fewer options here. But the event is well organized. Even if it is cold in Madrid.

Michael Kohlmann - "The Captains Meeting was not exciting"

tennisnet : In the individual Jan-Lennard Struff is set, the second position is occupied either by Dominik Koepfer or Philipp Kohlschreiber. Do you know who will come in as number two?

Kohlmann : This decision has not been made yet. Of course we also look at who we are playing against. Of course you are thinking about match-ups. I have my ideas, but there is still something that can happen, such as someone getting sick.

tennisnet : When will Boris Becker join the team?

Kohlmann : Boris arrives on Monday evening. We will train again on Tuesdays, but I'll tend to have told the guys who plays. In this respect, Boris will be present here and support us.

tennisnet : Nicolas Massu has said goodbye to Chilean captain from London to attend the team bosses meeting. And on Saturday he traveled back to his protégé Dominic Thiem. Was it worth it?

Kohlmann : I'm surprised that he managed to get back to London. The Captains Meeting was not exciting now, nothing happened.
