The German Tennis Association (DTB) is open to the future involvement of Boris Becker, who is currently in prison, in the work of the association. "The doors at the DTB are always open to Boris Becker," said DTB Vice President Dirk Hordorff of Sport Bild: "Once he has served his sentence, there is nothing to prevent him from taking on a function again. The requirement for rehabilitation applies to everyone, that is also for Boris Becker."
"Boris can choose his job"
Becker was convicted by a London court in April. Most recently, however, the British Sun reported that the six-time Grand Slam winner could be deported to Germany.
From mid-2017 to the end of 2020, the 55-year-old worked as Head of Men's Tennis for DTB and Hordorff can imagine "a lot" for Becker in the future: "Head of Men's Tennis, representative, executive committee or whatever. To put it bluntly: Boris can choose his job." However, only voluntary work is possible.
