A Swiss victory in Geneva on Tuesday - and it wasn't Roger Federer's. Stricker: "Not the one who shows incredible emotions"
He was "much more nervous" than with the Juniors, revealed Stricker afterwards , but he accepted the match like any other. And reacts very cautiously after the transformed ball to victory. Stricker had also trained with compatriot Roger Federer in the preparation for the season - and Federer had made himself comfortable in the stands during Stricker's match against Cilic (and in front of his own). "It's cool that he came to watch," said Stricker happily. "I saw that he was there at some point, but I didn't notice when he came. But that didn't make me nervous."
An official meeting on the court with Federer is still a long way off. Stricker meets Marton Fucsovics in round 2 (from around 2 p.m., here in the live scores ), if he had won he could have played against Federer - now his conqueror Pablo Andujar would be waiting there ...
