Rafael Nadal's affinity for water sports is well known, and the Spanish tennis legend also likes to show off on board his yacht. There, however, it is probably not about the speed at which Nadal glides over the sea. But rather to enjoy.

It's different in the E1 World Electric Powerboat Series. Up to twelve teams should duel there. And one of them will be owned by Rafael Nadal.

"I like the fact that E1 has a clear mission and is committed to preserving marine ecosystems," explained Nadal. As a professional athlete, he knows how small improvements can have a positive impact on performance. "It's good news for our oceans that this approach is being applied to the E1 to enable sustainable mobility at sea."

Similar to the Extreme E Series, which holds its races in remote and exotic locations, the E1 Series should also exude a special flair in terms of the competition venues.

But before he turns to the high-speed races, Nadal still has something to do in Melbourne: The title defense is pending at the Australian Open. And the draw hasn't been particularly kind to the 22-time Major champion. But maybe Rafael Nadal will find the necessary extra drive again.
