The 22-year-old Canadian defeated Sebastian Korda from the USA in the final 6:3, 6:4. The European Open has been held in Belgium since 2016 and from October 17th to 23rd Hubert Hurkacz, Diego Schwartzman and Karen Khachanov, among others, played for the title. The two-seeded Auger-Aliassime beat Manuel Guinard, Daniel Evans and Richard Gasquet this week.

Third title for FAA

This year is the most successful for the young top 10 player. At the beginning of the year in Rotterdam he was able to celebrate his long-awaited first tournament victory against Stefanos Tsitsipas (6: 4, 6: 2). Last week at the ATP 250 in Florence, Toni Nadal's protégé was able to prevail against Otte, Musetti and Wolf, among others.

Place in Turin almost secured

Auger-Aliassime is currently ranked tenth in the world rankings. In the Race-to-Turin, which determines participation in the unofficial tennis world championships, he is seventh. The qualification threshold for the tournament, which takes place from November 13th to 20th, is 3905 world ranking points. The race only takes into account the points collected this year. Alcaraz, Nadal, Tsitsipas and Ruud are already there. The Canadian has a good chance of participating in the ATP final of the season. Next week he will be at the Swiss Indoors (ATP-500) in Basel and will probably also take part in the Rolex Paris Master 1000 tournament.
