First title since 2018 - Sloane Stephens back on the road to victory
Sloane Stephens won her first title since 2018 at the WTA Tour 250 tournament in Guadalajara. The American beat Marie Bouzkova in three sets.

Sloane Stephens had to wait for almost four years, on Sunday it worked in Guadalajara. The 2017 US Open winner beat Marie Bouzkova 7: 5, 1: 6 and 6: 2 in the final of the WTA Tour 250 tournament. For Stephens, who married longtime boyfriend Jozy Altidore earlier in the year, it was the seventh triumph on the tour.
"It's only the beginning of the season, so there will still be a lot of tennis to play, but I'm happy to have played a few good matches," Stephens said after her win. "I think I've been preparing for the past year, I've made a commitment to training and fitness. Obviously I didn't get the results I wanted right away, but now it's nice to see the fruits of my labor.”
Stephens had won her last title so far in Miami in 2018, after which she failed three more times in a final - including in Roland Garros 2018.
