This has been reported by various Italian media in the past few days.
Piatti, a former coach of Novak Djokovic, among other things, accepted Sinner into an academy at the age of 13 and led him to the top of the world. The 20-year-old cracked the top 10 for the first time last year. Most recently, Sinner was out of action due to a corona infection.
Piatti once described Sinner as "the most talented player I've ever had".
Jannik Sinner: Dissatisfied in Melbourne
The reason for a breakup? It is possible that the 63-year-old would like to reduce his travel activities. However, it is suspected in Italy that Sinner was recently dissatisfied with his game.
At the Australian Open, Sinner clearly lost to Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarterfinals. "The defeat makes me realize that I still have a lot to learn," he said afterwards. "I have to find more solutions in the game and learn to do different things. Tsitsipas moved better, he served better, he did everything better than me."
Sinner is said to be preparing for his future tasks without Piatti in Monte Carlo. Specifically, he is registered for the tournament in Dubai (from February 21).
Boris Becker as Jannik Sinner's new coach?
The Gazzetta dello Sport continued to speculate whether Boris Becker could possibly be the new coach for Sinner. John McEnroe had previously been discussed as a "super coach" and the American was said to have been enthusiastic about the idea of becoming a "part-time consultant". However, that now seems to have come to an end.
Becker has not worked as a coach since he ended his coaching job for Djokovic in 2016. With Becker by his side, Djokovic had won six Grand Slam titles.
