The Laver Cup 2022 is and remains a very tight box. With the exception of a few matches - especially those involving Novak Djokovic - the champions tie-break had to make the decision in the previous team fight. That shouldn't change at the start of day three either.
Because Felix Auger-Aliassime were able to counter well after a strong start from Andy Murray and Matteo Berrettini - who had won the first round 6:2 - and equalized with a strong performance in the second round. So the tie-break played up to ten had to decide between victory and defeat again.
Sock/Auger aliases with better nerves
This quickly developed into an absolute thriller: First, Team Europe managed a mini-break, the Canadian-American duo countered and took a 7:5 lead. Although Berrettini/Murray were able to equalize again, at a score of 9:8 there was the first match point for Team World. And it fitted - thanks to a backhand stop by Jack Sock, which is well worth seeing.
This means that the Laver Cup 2022 is also a close duel in the overall ranking: Team World was able to reduce the lead to 8:7 with their first win on day three, now Felix Auger-Aliassime and Novak Djokovic will contest the first individual of the day.
