Reinforcement for Team World at this year's Laver Cup: As the organizers announced on Monday, Nick Kyrgios will start for John McEnroe's team. Alongside Felix Auger-Aliassime, Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe, the Australian is the fourth player to sign up for the team event.
"I'm really excited to be part of Team World. As I've said many times, it's very special to have a boy from Canberra representing the world. I'm ready to go into battle," said Kyrgios, the skipped the Laver Cup last year for personal reasons.
"Nick is one of the most talented players on the tour," said team captain McEnroe. "We saw what tennis he's capable of at Wimbledon last year and we're all looking forward to seeing him back on the court soon. He brings a lot of energy and passion. I'm thrilled to have him back on the team in Vancouver have." This year, the Laver Cup will take place in the Canadian metropolis from September 22nd to 24th.
