Sweden's up-and-coming hope Leo Borg is moving to Spain - to Rafael Nadal. This was reported by the Swedish newspaper Expressen . The son of tennis icon Björn Borg would leave the youth academy of the Royal Lawn Tennis Club after seven years and try his luck at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Manacor.
Borg's coach Rickard Billing confirmed this. "We had a meeting with Leo. He told us about Nadal's Academy - and we just thought: Wow! It's fun with him, even if we would have loved to have him with us."
Borg's family has been in contact with Nadal's Academy for several years. Leo wanted a fresh start, there was nothing strange about that. "It's a fantastic opportunity, a great opportunity."
Björn Borg had already attended the Nadal Academy and was enthusiastic. "It's great here!"
Leo Borg made his debut on the ATP Challenger Tour in February, but suffered two losses in the process - one against ex-top ten man Ernests Gulbis.
