The 16-year-old lost 3: 6, 1: 6 against Chung-hsin Tseng in his professional debut at the start of the ATP challenger in Bergamo - but he was not discouraged by that. "My level was not far from his," said Borg after the 46-minute game .
For comparison: Borg is ranked 103 in the current junior ranking, its highest ranking was 89 a few weeks ago. His opponent Tseng (18 years) is already number 301 in the ATP ranking.
Papa Björn Borg advises: "Enjoy the moment"
Because of his famous father, Borg has long been the focus of tennis fans. In 2017 he embodied the young Björn Borg in the film Borg / McEnroe . But he had never seen a game from his father. "It has never happened to me that I looked at it on Youtube," he said. Of course, he spoke to Papa Björn before the first game at the professional level. "He advised me to enjoy the moment, have fun and not think about winning or losing."
The next appearance for Borg is coming soon: Borg receives his second wildcard at the ATP Challenger tournament in Pau, France. He announced that he wanted to play both junior and professional tournaments in the near future, i.e. on the ATP Challenger Tour and on the ITF World Tennis Tour.
