"But I don't just want to play there. I also want to challenge and annoy the top players. I'll definitely give everything," emphasized the 20-year-old.

Despite the improvement of over 100 places in the ATP ranking, the junior champion of the French Open from 2020 cannot look back on an easy season. "I've had a few setbacks this year with minor injuries," said Stricker, who is now in top form again. "But I feel fit and I'm ready for more." Most recently, Stricker was able to bring two players from the top 35 in the world rankings to their knees within two weeks. "I love playing against strong opponents and I'm looking forward to the challenges," emphasizes the 20-year-old. Overall, Stricker was able to win two titles at ATP Challenger level and three places in the round of 16 on the ATP tour this season. In 2023, the Swiss would like to go one step further: "The goals are certainly to reach the top 100 and to qualify for the main fields at the Grand Slam tournaments."

The youngster doesn't have much time to catch his breath even after the end of the season. After Milan, Stricker will be on vacation for a few days, after which preparations for Australia will begin. And that's where the 20-year-old starts with a first highlight: the season of the world number 116. will start with a start at the newly created United Cup.
