Resignation? No: Roger Federer also wants to come to Dubai in 2020

Great news for all tennis fans: As the tournament director announced after Roger Federer's victory in Dubai at the award ceremony, the Swiss will again be in his second home in 2020.

Federer had spoken to him and given his okay that this would be announced, it is said.

Recently, tennis fans had worries that Federer could play his last season in 2019 because, unlike the last two seasons, he will be back on sand. This was interpreted as a possible farewell to his fans in Madrid and Paris.

Federer, for his part, had already denied this kind of thinking.

"That wasn't at all behind this plan. It was the question: Do I want to play clay tennis this year or not. And the answer was: Yes. Playing in Paris in 2019 does not mean that it must have been the last start there. There is much too much interpretation, "he said in an interview with tennisnet before the tournament started .
