These are not the weeks of Grigor Dimitrov. First, his positive COVID-19 test was the starting point of an inglorious series of illnesses in the course of the Adria Tour debacle, now he is said to have been caught playing the lawn. As the Swiss "Blick" reported, he and Daniil Medvedev are said to have been in a particularly hurry on the A8 near Monaco.
Ten drivers were stopped that afternoon at extremely high speed in some cases, the speedometer is said to have been between 160 and 190 kilometers per hour. The route connects Patrick Mouratoglou's academy, which last served as the restaurant for the Ultimate Tennis Showdown, with Monaco, Dimitrov's adopted home. This had served at the show tournament at the weekend.
Luxury cars confiscated
The cars, including a Lamborghini Urus, a BMW M4, a Porsche 911 GT3 and a Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster, were confiscated and the drivers had to be picked up by a second person. "All without a driver's license and only after they had paid a deposit of 750 euros," said the policeman responsible, David Roussel.
