Roger Federer as a TV expert? The rumor mill is churning
Roger Federer as a commentator at Wimbledon already in 2023? Many tennis fans would be happy about that. Especially in the UK - if it's for the BBC.

Anyone who has paid a little attention to what is happening in the NFL in the last few days will not have been able to avoid Tom Brady's second, possibly even final, retirement. After the retirement of his Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the record Super Bowl champion bid farewell with a simple video on social media. And because he doesn't actually have anything to do, there was immediate speculation that he would be an expert commentator at Super Bowl LVII, which is played between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
You have to know: Brady got a contract for his expert services from a TV station, with which he will earn more money than in his entire active career. But it's not that far yet. As the now ex-quarterback announced, he will not enter the TV business until 2024.
Federer confesses desire
In return, another retired grandmaster could broadcast his analysis to a wide TV audience. A few days ago, Roger Federer explained in a conversation with the Swiss daily newspaper that he would actually like to comment as an expert. Whereupon the rumor mill that this could be the case in Wimbledon this summer has boiled up.
And why not? The BBC is constantly bringing out the big guns, be it John McEnroe or Boris Becker, who is probably not available this year for legal reasons. Federer's expertise and eloquence is beyond question, the added value for TV viewers would be enormous.
Corretja would be happy
What some ex-colleagues also see. Alex Corretja, who has been working as a specialist for Eurosport for several years, is certainly enthusiastic about the idea. "It would be fantastic," the Spaniard told Express Sport. "Roger can do whatever he wants, he will be welcomed with open arms everywhere. He knows tennis, he loves tennis, he's respected everywhere, he's such a great guy. It would definitely be fantastic for us if he did something, if he did something related to tennis.
