Stefanos Tsitsipas had immortalized himself with a cryptic message in Monte Carlo. But the explanation is even logical.

"Clay courts in the USA are like a unicorn on a skateboard," Tsitsipas wrote on the camera lens at the Masters tournament in Monte Carlo last week - and gave the tennis world something to think about.
Taylor Fritz, for example, who played and defeated Tsitsipas in the quarterfinals that followed. "US Clay???" Fritz wrote again, almost as an answer. And now?
Fritz clarified: It was just a joke after Tsitsipas wrote. Apparently he wanted to say that clay courts in the US weren't that good or wouldn't make any sense. With which he definitely had a point, according to Fritz. But he didn't want to annoy Tsitsipas, just write something funny back. By the way, he himself couldn't stand the green US sand, the red one is worlds better!
Tsitsipas wants more tournaments on clay
And Tsitsipas? Also brought light into the darkness. The message with red sand in the USA as a unicorn on a skateboard only meant that it basically doesn't exist, red sand in the USA - that was the message.
He recently spoke to a friend about only hard court being advertised in the US and played almost exclusively on hard court. But he would be happy if there were tournaments on red sand elsewhere in the world, for example in Asia. Or on grass, both are so much better for the body. "I think a lot of players would agree with me that we could have longer careers because most injuries happen on hard courts." Hard courts are played almost consistently from September to March and April, which puts a lot of strain on the body.
Is he actually right, good Stefanos. And the equally good Taylor? Indeed. Conclusion of the whole thing: Everything half as wild. And red sand is boss!
