There were times in women's tennis, when the winner of the big tournaments was basically already clear when looking at the tableau: If the name "Steffi Graf" was in the grid, the German tennis fans could basically sit back and relax and the inevitable triumphal course of the event to celebrate. At the end of Graf's grandiose career, there were 22 Grand Slam tournaments, the first (1987) in Paris as well as the last (in the unforgettable finale against Martina Hingis in 1999). Seven victories alone in Wimbledon underline Steffi Graf's outstanding position in tennis history - as does the fact that the German legend has become increasingly rare after the end of her career. So we celebrate from a distance, with warm wishes and a few souvenir pictures ...

The rivalry that came to an abrupt end - with Monica Seles
Sporty not in a league: Steffi with Anna Kournikova
With the legendary Bud Collins in Paris
Klaus Hofsäss with respectful distance at the Fed Cup
A connection for eternity: Steffi wins Wimbledon seven times
German Miss Miracle - with Anke Huber
The last Grand Slam Cup: 1999 in Paris
The Lord consort - in his short Adidas phase, by the way
United in Andres Box: Steffi with Brad Gilbert
Mama Steffi with the very young Jaden Gil
Meanwhile collectibles: autographs by Steffi (here in hall 2012)
The exhibition fights are also becoming increasingly rare - despite Mansour Bahrami
With Princess Kate at Wimbledon
