Successful start for Holger Rune in Montpellier
The Dane also seems to be able to cope fut with his role as favourite. Rune only had some problems against Swiss Marc-Andrea Hüsler in the first set, but in the end he earned a place in the quarter-finals in Montpellier.

At his premiere as the top seed at ATP level, the Dane Holger Rune got the upper hand. The 19-year-old won 7: 6 (7: 5) and 6: 2 against Swiss Marc-Andrea Hüsler. It was Holger Rune's first match in a tournament after his dramatic exit at the Australian Open against Andrey Rublew. There, Rune was left behind despite several match points against the Russian in the fifth set.
The match against Hüsler in Montpellier was also not a sure-fire success. Last year, the Swiss had won both duels against Rune. Among other things, at the final of the Sofia tournament, where Hüsler was able to win his only ATP title so far. But Rune is now a different player and so he was able to successfully play the game against Hüsler despite a shaky first set.
Rune was already in good shape again at the Davis Cup last weekend, winning both his singles and doubles. Denmark can thus play for a place in the world group in September.
Andreas Mies, on the other hand, was eliminated in doubles. With his partner John Peer he lost in three sets to the Dutchmen Saner Arends and Dacid Pel.
