Since the tour shutdown on March 12, most players on the tour have had to try to get information about what is being planned, Moore complained, currently number 447 in the WTA ranking. You have to rely on social media and media news to get any information about your own life and job. "It doesn't seem fair to me that the media are the first to receive information about whether tournaments will be canceled or when it will go on," said the 27-year-old. /

Just last week, she noticed that there were weekly (video) meetings for a group of around 200 WTA players, Moore wrote on Twitter. She asked to be accepted into this group, but was told that certain criteria had to be met. "I am a member of the WTA, pay my fees, take part in tournaments - so I think I should be included in these meetings," said Moore in her letter. And if not in the form of participation, then at least in a summary. "I think it's not fair that 2/3 of all players don't get this information." What is currently happening is "insider trading," said Moore, "players in the meetings are asked not to share the information with players who are not present." This information could help to prepare better for the start of the tour.

There are members of the player council who are responsible for answering questions and addressing concerns. However, it is not easy to contact them if you do not know them personally. And simply asking via social media would probably be lost in the mass of news. "I believe that there are several ways to close the gap in communication between the organizations, as well as between the WTA and ITF itself. There is hardly a better time than now to do that," said Moore.
