The 32-year-old posted a photo with her two kids at the weekend - and of herself with a baby bump. "In a very complicated 2020, there is wonderful news for our family - Baby # 3," she wrote on Twitter.
Golovin's daughter Anastasia was born in 2015 , son Constantin in 2017. The father is Hugo Bonneval.
It is questionable whether Golovin will continue her career after giving birth, also for health reasons. She had resigned at the age of only 20, initially because of back problems, and later she was diagnosed with Bechterew's disease, a chronic inflammatory rheumatic disease. At the end of last year she surprisingly announced her comeback.
Golovin: Long struggled with the forced retirement
She recently recalled the time after her forced resignation in a conversation with the British Guardian . "I had friends who had just finished school. They said: Now we're going to travel around the world!" She thought: "I've already done that."
Golovin, one of the greatest tennis talents of his time, then turned to work as a presenter. However, she never let go of the thought of her abrupt end as a player. At first, she repressed the whole thing - and therefore had problems remembering her career. "There is still such a trauma in my life: having to quit at this point in my career and in this way."
So the comeback at the end of 2019, followed by abdominal muscle problems and a broken rib. Problems with the elbow were added in early 2020. Is it possible to return again? Before the announcement of her pregnancy, Golovin did not want to commit himself and speculated with a start in doubles. And why not? Last but not least, in 2004, when she won the French Open mixed with Richard Gasquet, she proved that she can do it as a "duo".
