Rafael Nadal scored 600 points with his only final in Indian Wells and thus pushed past Alexander Zverev : Nadal now has 7,115 points, Zverev 7,025.
There was also a change at the top: Novak Djokovic passed Daniil Medvedev again despite his non-participation in Indian Wells: Djoker now has 8,465 points, Medvedev has 8,410. The reason: Medvedev had more to defend at the desert tournament than Djokovic, who did not compete in 2021 (in the fall).
Meanwhile, Indian Wells winner Taylor Fritz is celebrating a new career high, although it's not 8th place, as a system glitch of the ATP wanted for a short time, but 13th place isn't bad either. Semi-finalist Carlos Alcaraz is also moving up to where he probably already belongs - he is now in 16th place.
Nick Kyrgios , quarterfinalist in Indian Wells, jumps 30 places to world number 102. now back in the top 100.
Career highs for Daniel Altmaier and Oscar Otte
From a German perspective, Jan-Lennard Struff remains number 2 after Zverev, he ranks 56th ahead of Dominik Koepfer on 64th.
Daniel Altmaier has made it into the top 70 for the first time and, thanks to his final at the Challenger tournament in Phoenix, has moved up to 69th place, a new record for him. Oscar Otte is also higher than ever with 74th place.
From an Austrian perspective, Dominic Thiem is in 50th place, ahead of Dennis Novak in 140th place.
Swiatek and Sakkari with new top positions
In the women's race, Indian Wells winner Iga Swiatek has climbed to number 2 for the first time, but she is still more than 2,000 points separating her from Ashleigh Barty . Thanks to her entry into the final, Maria Sakkari is in third place in the WTA ranking for the first time.
Ex-world number one Simona Halep makes a big leap: she was injured for a long time in 2021 and therefore slipped, thanks to her Indian Wells semi-final she made up nine places and is back in 19th place.
Angelique Kerber remains the German number 1 in 15th place, in Austria Julia Grabher is the measure of all things with 151st place.
