Padel is also on the rise in Germany

Thrilling, spectacular rallies every second and lots of exciting matches are guaranteed when the World Padel Tour (WPT) comes to Düsseldorf. This was announced at the OMR digital trade fair in Hamburg by the German Tennis Association, the joint venture between the WWP Group and e|motion, and the Düsseldorf city subsidiary D.SPORTS. From September 23rd to October 1st, the absolute world elite will compete in the CASTELLO Düsseldorf and compete in the first padel tournament of this size in Germany.

Four players, one ball and lots of action - Padel is the fastest growing sport in the world, and new courts are opening almost every day in Germany too. In a mix of tennis, squash and badminton, players compete for points, service games and sets in a 20 x 10 meter open-topped "cage". The sport, which originated in Latin America, is always played in doubles, counted like tennis. In 2023, a total of 27 tournaments will take place in 14 countries on the World Padel Tour. The tour stop in Düsseldorf will be the first and only one on German soil. In addition to Düsseldorf, the tour stops in metropolises such as Madrid, Buenos Aires and Vienna.
