What a match, what a mood on Monday in Sydney. And in the end, it was Alex de Minaur who brought the fans into ecstasy with his first win in the fourth meeting against Rafael Nadal. After winning the first set, things didn't look good from de Minaur's point of view - because Nadal also led 1-0 in the second round with a break. But like against Cameron Norrie, the thread broke with the Spanish grandmaster.

In the third set, de Minaur initially led with a break, Nadal equalized. In the eleventh game, the local hero made the decisive break to make it 6:5. And served confidently with four first serves. Spain starts again with a deficit like against Great Britain. This game ended up being lost 4-1.

Meanwhile in Perth, Stefanos Tsitsipas left the court for the second time as the winner of a game at the United Cup 2023. After the dramatic success against Grigor Dimitrov, who was only determined in the tie-break of the third set, Tsitsipas now won against David Goffin 6: 3 and 6: 2.
