Sakkari and Tsitsipas won the mixed doubles match against Petra Martic/Borna Gojo 7: 6 (6), 6: 4 and thus won the decisive 3: 2 for the overall victory against the Croatians. And all this in an exciting and thrilling game that only ended half an hour before midnight in Perth. "I'm so happy and so proud of the team," said Sakkari after the win.
Tsitsipas and Sakkari had also won their singles, Donna Vekic and Borna Coric got the points for the Croatian team.
Poland meets the USA
Greece meets Italy, who progressed despite the narrow defeat by Poland. Iga Swiatek and Magda Linette got the points for Poland here, Lorenzo Musetti and Matteo Berrettini (6:4, 3:6, 6:3 against Hubert Hurkacz) were successful for the Italian selection. In the deciding mixed game, Hurkacz/Swiatek clearly won 6:1, 6:2 against Camilla Rosatello/Lorenzo Musetti.
Poland is now dealing with the USA: Thanks to Frances Tiafoe, the Americans won the decisive 3: 1 - the US Open semifinalist won against Dan Evans 3: 6, 7: 5 and 6: 3. In mixed, Jessica Pegula and Taylor Fritz increased to 4:1.
