Waterdrop and the ATP Tour go together

Industry leader Novak Djokovic is leading the way. And the two top American players, Taylor Fritz and Danielle Collins, are following the world number one on his way to reducing plastic waste and living more sustainably in the stressful everyday life of a tennis pro. Cooperation between tennis and waterdrop has now been taken to a new level - namely with the announcement that waterdrop® will be the official hydration partner and gold partner of the ATP Tour from 2023.

waterdrop® products, including microdrinks, reusable water bottles and innovative water filter systems, were developed to avoid plastic waste in the long term. So far, thanks to their versatile products, over 30 million plastic bottles have been saved.

As part of their partnership, ATP and waterdrop® will work together to ensure a sustainable supply of liquids during the ATP Tour. The company will provide players, staff and volunteers with their distinctive reusable bottles, laying the foundation for a significant reduction in plastic bottle consumption throughout the season.

Djokovic, Fritz and Collins as brand ambassadors

waterdrop® will also introduce innovative "drinking benches" for players on the field and drinking stations for fans at each ATP Tour event. On site, fans will have the opportunity to explore the company's exciting range of products and flavors, and to purchase their own reusable bottle with the exclusive ATP design, which will also be used by the tennis pros themselves. With more than five million fans per season, this partnership is an integral part of ATP's efforts to reduce their environmental impact through ATP Serves.

Novak Djokovic, Taylor Fritz and Danielle Collins will promote the brand's mission and storytelling in the sports and tennis sector. Throughout the tour, waterdrop® will work with the ATP medical team to ensure optimal hydration for all participating players. Incidentally, Novak Djokovic is so convinced that he also joined waterdrop as a partner.

Waterdrop as official partner in traditional tournaments

"We are very pleased to welcome waterdrop® to the global partner family of the ATP Tour," says Daniele Sanò, Chief Business Officer of the ATP. “Sustainability is something that is very important to our players, tournaments and fans. We have set ourselves ambitious goals and it's great to have a passionate brand like waterdrop® supporting us on this journey. We look forward to providing the tennis community with the most sustainable drinking products.”

"The commitment that the tennis world has already shown is a great fit with our vision," says Martin Murray, CEO and Founder of waterdrop® . "Being able to break new ground with ATP is the beginning of a major and fundamental shift. Reducing our plastic consumption and unnecessary CO2 emissions are steps we all need to take. We are very happy that the best tennis players in the world use our bottles and drinking benches. This is an important symbol of this lasting upheaval in the industry.”

Fritz praises progress

“Drinking enough water is the key to a healthy lifestyle and our performance as athletes. But that doesn't have to be at the expense of the environment,” says Taylor Fritz. “It's great to see that our sport is taking the right steps in this direction. I believe that together we can make real progress in tackling single-use plastic on the Tour.”

This year, fans could and can keep an eye out for waterdrop® as Official Hydration Partner 2023 at: the Delray Beach Open (which brand ambassador Taylor Fritz won a few days ago), Open 13 Provence (the tournament in Marseille is currently entering its final phase) , Open Parc Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes (Lyon), Hamburg European Open, Citi Open (Washington), Winston-Salem Open and Moselle Open (Metz).
