Rafael Nadal can also be expected in Wimbledon. The radio wave therapy apparently brought the desired success.

When Rafael Nadal won the French Open in Paris three weeks ago, hardly anyone expected the 36-year-old Spaniard to compete in Wimbledon. And yet the fourth in the world rankings in London is now chasing his third Grand Slam title of the year. Not least because the radio wave therapy on Nadal's left foot worked well.

"I can walk normally almost every day, that's the main thing for me," said the Mallorcan, who has been struggling with Müller-Weiss syndrome since 2005, at a press conference in Wimbledon. "When I wake up, I no longer have the pain that I have had for the past year and a half."

In Paris, Nadal had his foot anesthetized before each match because of the pain, but ruled out a similar approach in London immediately after the final victory over Casper Ruud. "I respect Wimbledon very much, it's always an important goal every year. But no, I won't do something like that for Wimbledon again," said the Iberian at the time.

Thanks to the pain relief, Nadal is now ready for the classic: "For two weeks I haven't had any of those days when I couldn't move at all. The general feeling is positive." The 22-time Grand Slam champion will play his first round match against Francisco Cerundolo on Tuesday.
