As is well known, in 2020 after the Corona break in terms of world rankings, everything is different: The points earned a year ago from the tournament in Indian Wells basically remain in the rating, but whoever does better than 2019 will receive this year's results.

Novak Djokovic has not improved in terms of position (where as an industry leader?), But has further expanded his lead over number two, Rafael Nadal , with the win in New York. Djokovic lost to Daniil Medvedev in the Cincinnati semifinals in 2019. Milos Raonic was also able to improve, the Canadian made up twelve places and is now number 18 again in the top 20.

Dominic Thiem is still third, followed by Roger Federer , Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alexander Zverev .

In the women’s tournament, Victoria Azarenka jumped from 59th position to 27th with her tournament victory. Naomi Osaka , who could not compete against Azarenka in the final, nevertheless improved by one place, the Japanese is now ninth, right behind Serena Williams .

Ashleigh Barty , who like her first pursuer Simona Halep, will not take part in the 2020 US Open, is still in the lead. The best-ranked German is Angelique Kerber in 23rd place.
