One of the biggest women's tournaments of the year will take place in western Mexico from October 17th to 23rd. 64 players are fighting for the title and not just that. The draw is impressive. Also included is Spain's number one Paula Badosa, hoping for her fourth title. This year she was able to win the title in Sydney against Barbora Krejcikova. She is currently ranked fourth in the world; with 3934 points just behind Anett Kontaveit (4020 points). Aryna Sabalenka, Jessica Pegula, Maria Sakkari and Cori Gauff are also part of the top 5 seeds.
Gauff, Sabalenka & Co.: Decision on WTA final entry
Exactly where the WTA finals were held last year, this year it's about entering them. The qualification limit for the WTA Tour Championships (October 31-November 7), which will be held this year in Fort Worth, Texas, is 3185 points. So far only Iga Swiatek, Ons Jabeur and Jessica Pegula have qualified. All players who are in the race between Coco Gauff and Madison Keys still have the chance of a place in the most important tournament (with the exception of the Grand Slam tournaments). It is definitely feasible for Gauff and Sabalenka to move in, but Maria Sakkari or Belinda Bencic could also still take part due to Simona Halep's absence.

Julia Grabher retired
Austria was only represented at this tournament by Julia Grabher. The world number 8 lost in qualifying on Saturday 2:6, 6:4, 4:6 against Kayla Day from the USA. She won the title against Aliona Bolsova in early October in San Sebastian, Spain (ITF Tour). And she was also able to win the trophy against Nuria Brancaccio at the WTA 125 in Bari (Italy), which was held in mid-September.
