Sabine Lisicki isn't really getting going yet

For Sabine Lisicki, the world's best remains a good distance away, even on her beloved lawn. After her opening defeat in Berlin, the 2013 Wimbledon finalist also lost her first round match in Bad Homburg against the Russian Anna Blinkova 6: 3, 1: 6, 5: 7. Lisicki received a wild card for both tournaments.

The world rankings are going down again, last year the former number twelve reached the quarter-finals in the Kurpark. After a few injuries, Lisicki is fighting to catch up, but first the 33-year-old has to prove herself again at smaller tournaments. On grass she did not collect the points she had hoped for in the ranking.

In addition to Lisicki, Tatjana Maria (Bad Saulgau) and Anna-Lena Friedsam (Neuwied) are also in the main draw in Bad Homburg. Maria, last year's semi-finalist at Wimbledon, challenges world number one Iga Swiatek (Poland) in the first round. Friedsam, who slipped into the field for the injured Jule Niemeier (Dortmund), has to deal with the fourth seeded Egyptian Mayar Sherif.

Here the single tableau from Bad Homburg.
