WTA Bogota: Sinja Kraus beats former French Open semifinalist!
Sinja Kraus celebrated her first victory on the WTA tour at the WTA 250 tournament in Bogota! The Austrian beat former French Open semi-finalist Nadia Podoroska in straight sets.

What a success for Sinja Kraus ! The 20-year-old Austrian defeated Nadia Podoroska 6: 4 and 7: 6 (4) in the first round of the WTA 250 tournament in Bogota. The Argentine, who is now only 103rd in the world rankings, had reached the semifinals at the French Open in 2020.
For Kraus, the success over Podoroska marked her first success on the WTA Tour. In her two previous main draw appearances in November 2021 in Linz and in Prague in July 2022, she had lost in the first round. In Bogota, the Viennese meets the Italian Nuria Brancaccio in the round of 16
