WTA Budapest: Yulia Putintseva wins second career title

The top favorite prevailed at the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Kazakh Yulia Putintseva, who was number one at the WTA clay court event in Budapest, finished off the unseeded Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina 6: 4, 6: 0 after only 1:10 hours of play. For Putintseva it is the second WTA title of her career. In 2019, the 26-year-old entered the list of winners at the clay court event in Nuremberg. Kalinina was finally able to look forward to her first participation in the finals at a WTA tour event.
From an Austrian point of view, Barbara Haas and Julia Grabher were also two ÖTV players in the Hungarian capital. For both, however, it set initial defeats. While the Upper Austrian was behind with 6: 7 (9), 3: 6 against Kateryna Kozlova (Ukraine), the Vorarlberg woman drew 7: 5, 1: 6, 2: 6 against the American Bernarda Pera, who had three of them Shorter ones. With Tamara Korpatsch there was also a German player in Budapest. For the Hamburg woman, however, it was also a 2: 6, -2: 6 defeat against Serbian Olga Danilovic in round one.
