WTA calendar: four tournaments in Germany until summer 2021

In recent years it has not often happened that the WTA has gained a head start over the ATP: With regard to more detailed planning into the year 2021, the women's players' association has now decided more than that of the men. And created facts before the Wimbledon tournament.
At least three aspects are remarkable: on the one hand, the return of the WTA tour to China. A WTA 250 tournament is to be held in Anning from April 12th. And that, second interesting aspect, at the same time as the final round of the Fed Cup, which fell into the water last year. The traditional team competition will operate under the name “Billie Jean King Cup” from this year - and will hold its final tournament in Budapest.
Porsche Tennis Grand as the beginning of the German tennis season
From a German point of view, one can be very happy: four events made it into the tournament calendar of the WTA in spring, starting with the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart from April 19, 2021. The three other events will be victims of the Corona break in 2020 liked - or, like the WTA Tour 250 tournament in Cologne (start on May 17th, immediately before the French Open) only established themselves afterwards.
The good news for all fans of well-groomed lawn tennis: From June 14th, the bett1 Open will be played in Berlin, an event in the new WTA 500 category. The following week the premiere of the WTA Tour 250 tournament in Bad Homburg follows.
