US superstar Williams (40) will compete with a wildcard at the Grand Slam highlight in Wimbledon after a year's break from Monday. In the English seaside resort of Eastbourne, she made her comeback in doubles with Jabeur, third in the world rankings.
Williams was already satisfied after the win on Wednesday. "I feel good. As good as you can feel after such a long break," said the 23-time Grand Slam winner. The "match practice" was "exactly what I needed. That's why I came here. I couldn't ask for more," said Williams.
