Fort Worth, Texas - the place where eight women will compete for the crown of this year's women's tour. In group mode, four women each play according to the round-robin principle. From the group "Tracy Austin" the Polish and number one Iga Swiatek has already qualified. Caroline Garcia and Daria Kasatkina are still playing for the semi-finals. Maria Sakkari has already defeated Jessica Pegula and Aryna Sabalenka in her group "Nancy Richey". The Greek became the first player to qualify for the semifinals.
Sabalenka still has a chance of winning the title
The seventh in the world rankings can still secure the five million US dollars that the tournament win is endowed with. She beat Ons Jabeur 3-6, 7-6 (5), 7-5 on Tuesday. By winning the unofficial WTA World Championship, the Belarusian would claim her first title of the year and her twelfth overall. But even if she makes it to the semi-finals, she would still have to win against the very well-playing Swiatek. She had won her two games very smoothly in two sets.
