Iga Swiatek went on vacation for a few days after winning the title in San Diego. The Pole arrived well rested as the clear favorite for the WTA Finals in Fort Worth. Which is still true even after the division of the groups. With a small caveat: Because Caroline Garcia, the fearless Frenchwoman, has already annoyed Swiatek once this season, and at that at their home tournament in Warsaw. Experience has shown that the top players in the industry should have no problems against Cori Gauff and Daria Kasatkina, who form the "Tracy Austin" group with Swiatek and Garcia.

In any case, she is also looking forward to the fact that different play styles would be offered in her group. As is well known, Kasatkina acts with a lot of spin and not quite as much speed as, for example, Garcia. And Gauff usually benefits from their outstanding athleticism and defense.

In the "Nancey Richie" group, the initial situation is a little more exciting: It starts with the unpredictable Aryna Sabalenka, who, however, starts as an outsider after being placed in the WTA charts. The group is led by Ons Jabeur, who failed both at Wimbledon (against Elena Rybakina) and at the US Open (against Swiatek) this year. Jessica Pegula is coming to Fort Worth from Guadalajara with the momentum of winning the tournament, and Maria Sakkari has also brought a lot of self-confidence there as a finalist.

Pegula and Gauff also push double shifts, have been drawn into a group in pair skating with the favorites Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova.
