Jessica Pegula is in the final of the WTA Tour 1000 tournament in Guadalajara

The American Jessica Pegula is extending her winning streak at the WTA Tour 1000 tournament in Guadalajara and is in the final. She defeated Belarusian Victoria Azarenka 7: 6 (3), 6: 1 in the semifinals of the hard court event and is thus in her second final of the season after Madrid in May of this year. There she was defeated by the Tunisian Ons Jabeur in three sets.

It is still unclear who will be her opponent in the decider on Sunday (local time), because the match between Maria Sakkari and the Czech Marie Bouzkova had to be interrupted due to rain at a score of 7: 5 for the Greek and postponed to the final day.

In any case, Pegula has the chance to win only her second tournament on the WTA tour. The 28-year-old, currently ranked five in the women's ranking, won the 250 event in Washington in the final against Camila Giorgi from Italy in 2019.

Here the individual tableau from Guadalajara.
