WTA Indian Wells: Paula Badosa and Maria Sakkari complete semifinals

Paula Badosa continues to surf the wave of success in Indian Wells: The defending champion from Spain made it into the semi-finals on Thursday with a 6: 3 and 6: 3 win over Veronika Kudermetova and thus celebrated her tenth success in the tenth main draw match at the desert tournament.

Badosa took the serve from her 24-year-old opponent in the first set to make it 3-1 and transported this advantage to win the set. In the second round, the seventh in the world rankings cleared things up even more quickly with two early breaks. After 82 minutes of play, the Iberian converted her first match point to a 6:3 and 6:2 win.

Sakkari beats Rybakina

Badosa meets Maria Sakkari in the semifinals. The Greek defeated Elena Rybakina 7: 5 and 6: 4 in the first quarter-final duel of the day. Sakkari caught up a 1:4 deficit in the first set.

Simona Halep and Iga Swiatek had already bought their semi-final tickets on Wednesday . Both semi-finals will take place on Friday, with the final on Sunday.
