WTA Indian Wells: Sabalenka manages revenge against Krejcikova, Gauff and Sakkari also win
Aryna Sabalenka is in the quarterfinals of the WTA 1000 tournament in Indian Wells after beating Barbora Krejcikova in three sets. Cori Gauff and Maria Sakkari are also one lap further.

In Dubai, Barbora Krejcikova inflicted the first defeat of the season on the newly crowned Australian Open winner Aryna Sabalenka , and at the WTA 1000 tournament in Indian Wells, the world number two from Belarus hit back. Sabalenka prevailed in the round of 16 in an intense game 6:3, 2:6 and 6:4.
In the quarterfinals, Sabalenka meets Cori Gauff. The American beat the Swedish qualifier Rebecca Peterson 6: 3, 1: 6 and 6: 4. In the third set, Gauff caught up a break deficit.
The duel between Maria Sakkari and Karolina Pliskova was no less dramatic. Ultimately, the Greek asserted herself after around two hours and 45 minutes of play with 6: 4, 5: 7 and 6: 3. She now has to deal with Jessica Pegula or Petra Kvitova.
