Fought well but lost in the end - this could be Jule Niemeier's conclusion in the round of 16 of the WTA Tour 250 event in Lyon: The Dortmund lost to the Colombian Camila Osorio after 2:03 hours 6: 7 (5) and 5:7. In the first round, the South American defeated the local hero Alize Cornet, who was ranked third, in three sets.
Tamara Korpatsch had previously failed in her opening task Alison Van Uytvanck. The 27-year-old from Hamburg, currently in world ranking position 78, was beaten by the Belgian, who was only two places ahead of her, after exactly 1:30 hours by 2:6 and 4:6. This means that all German players who started in the French metropolis were eliminated.
